Lenovo's Ideapad U8 features a 4.8-inch touchscreen



This slick little number is the Lenovo Ideapad U8 MID, based around Intel's brand-spanking-new Atom processor. It's got a sizable 4.8-inch touchscreen display and a "bullseye" optical mouse for one-handed web surfing operation over either EDGE or 3G data networks.

Lenovo set to announce ThinkPad W700


Lenovo is going to release the ThinkPad W700ds, a dual screen version of the company’s latest mobile workstation.
Along with the primary 17-inch display, the W700ds includes a vertically mounted 10.6″ screen with a resolution of 768-by-1,280 pixels. The smaller display is aimed to help professional users such as photographers, designers, and engineers. It can be tilted up to 30 degrees, “to recreate a dual-display setup typically found with a standard desktop workstation”.

The secondary screen adds about 2 pounds of weight to the W700 and about $500 to the base cost of the laptop that currently starts at around $2,500.
The Lenovo ThinkPad W700 has Intel’s dual or quad core processor, the Nvidia Quadro FX 3700M video card, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, and up to two hard drives, as well as a built-in Wacom digitizer with pen and a X-Rite PANTONE calibrator in select models.
The W700ds is expected to be on display at CES 2009 in Las Vegas, January next year.

Lenovo Ideapad S10


The Lenovo Ideapad S10 comes with Windows XP and weighs in at just 2.4 pounds, and measures 9.8 x 7.2 inches.
It features a 10 inch back-lit LCD screen and is powered by Intel’s new Atom N270 and 945 GSE express chipset, the current chipset being used in the new range of Acer laptops.
The Ideapad S10 comes with 512MB of memory and an 80GB hard drive for the base model which will retail at $399, there is also another model which has 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive, this model will retail for around $450.
